Blum LMT (Erlanger, KY) announces the opening of a Canadian office (its 14th office worldwide), in Toronto, Ontario, providing sales, service and support of laser tool measurement and probing systems. This year marks the 10th year for Blum in the U.S. and the 40 th year in operation. In the late 1980s, Blum invented the laser system for tool setting and breakage detection. In addition, the company offers workpiece touch probes, mechanical tool setters and a fully automatic bore gage for on-machine test and measurement of precision-machined bores. Recent products include the LaserControl NT-H 3D, Probe TC76, Probes TC53-10 and -20, and FormControl V3, probe software for 5-axis machining in aerospace, die/mold, medical and other applications.
David Tandori will be running the new Canadian office as Regional Sales Manager. Prior to joining the Blum team, Tandori was a production manager in machining operations for a leading pneumatics manufacturer. Previous to that, Tandori was an applications engineer for a prominent Toronto machine tool distributor where he was a key member in design and management of small to large scale projects, focusing on automated processes involving 4th and 5th axis integration, robotics, tool monitoring and other related technologies. ?I?m very pleased to be part of this team,? Tandori says. ?I have worked with Blum systems in the past and I find the products to be impressive and very well engineered.?
