Hardinge Inc. (Elmira, NY) expanded its line of turning centers with the GS 150, GS 200, GS 200/66 and GS 250 machines.

Hardinge Inc. (Elmira, NY) is expanding its spectrum of turning centers by introducing the Hardinge-designed and -built GS150, GS200, GS200/66 and GS250 machines.

Positioned in the center of the company's turning center portfolio (above the SV-Series and below the SR-Series), the all-new GS-Series offers users an exceptional combination of performance features for speed, power, accuracy and durability in a compact design.

Also available in "long bed" models, GS-Series machines are based on the popular and proven Talent ® CNC turning center platform. These rigid machines feature a robust one-piece cast iron slant bed base, heavy-duty linear guideways and ballscrews, and many standard performance enhancing features?heavy-duty dual-wound spindle motor (with up to 6,000 rpm speeds), 3-jaw chuck, 12-station universal VDI top plate, 40 psi through-tool and headwall coolant, foot switch, chip conveyor interface, and a swing-out CNC control panel for ease of operation to name a few. C-axis/live tooling and fully-programmable tailstocks are offered.

GS-Series turning centers are loaded with performance features that often are available only as options by other machine builders. These include:

  • ? Up to 25 hp/18.5 kW heavy-duty dual-wound spindle motor
  • ? Robust one-piece cast iron base for high rigidity
  • ? Large work envelope, which enables a larger cutting area
  • ? Fast rapid traverse rates for increased productivity and decreased cycle time
  • ? Large coolant capacity with 40 psi/2.8 bar coolant pressure
  • ? Pendent mounted Hardinge/Fanuc i-Series GS color LCD control packed with standard features
  • ? User friendly operator's panel for ease of use
  • ? Graphic display
  • ? Flash card slot
  • ? Rigid tapping
  • ? Run time/parts counter
  • ? Custom macro B (user definable macros)
  • ? Spindle Orient
  • ? Manual Guide (G-code program assist)
