Colonial Saw(Kingston, MA) offers the UTMA Model AL 805 CNC programmable carbide saw grinder, ideal for both professional grinding shops and in-house tool rooms. Manufactured in Europe and available from Colonial Saw in North America, it is fully enclosed for cleanliness and safety, and its rigid machine base provides excellent stability.

The AL 805 has standard programs to accommodate all common tooth types on saw blades from 100 to 800 mm (4 in-32 in) diameter. Highly precise, yet easy to operate, the economical machine features pre-mounted face and top grinding wheels to allow for face and top grinding in one setup. A large window provides a clear view of the grinding process, and an internal diagnostic program identifies faults.

At the unit?s central control panel, the operator freely programs the grinding process based on the shape and angle of the blade?s teeth, the number of teeth, etc., in virtually any pattern. The color touch screen menu display with graphics makes programming quick and easy. Large memory capacity allows frequently used blade geometries to be stored and recalled.

The AL 805 is capable of running water-soluble coolant or oil. The entire system is available for under $60,000. Experienced sharpening technicians provide training at Colonial Saw?s Massachusetts or California office at no charge or at the customer?s plant for a small fee.
