LAI International, Inc. (Scottsdale, AZ), announces it has won several manufacturing contracts for armor plate systems. As part of the agreements, LAI received five awards for armor plate production for a military vehicle armor system developed by the Army Research Lab designed to stop high-threat level, penetrating-type explosives.
"LAI continues to prove itself in manufacturing precision components at high-production levels for mission-critical applications, including military vehicle armor,? Stewart Cramer, president of LAI, said. "Our manufacturing team is successful at adapting to change and responding to the needs of our customer to make complex components more efficiently and ultimately to deliver complete products faster.?
LAI has completed work on its third contract for projects with U.S. Army TACOM and Letterkenny Army Depot. The contracts are valued at $8.2 million over the next two years. The company already has been issued contracts this year for more than $7.5 million.
