THK America (Schaumburg, IL) offers its ne Light LM Guide. Significantly lighter in weight than conventional LM Guides, it enables high-speed operation. Featuring a cold drawn hollow rail and an aluminum block, the Light weighs approximately 40 percent less than conventional guides (calculated for a 1000 mm rail length with one block). To ensure a long service life, the Light includes the same hardened steel raceways as those used in conventional models. The use of THK Caged Technology in the LM Guide provides smooth movement even during high-speed operation.

THK Caged Technology employs a synthetic resin cage with a patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next one. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term maintenance-free operation.

Lightweight components of the Light LM Guide are dimensionally interchangeable with THK?s conventional SSR. Standard blocks can be used on a hollow rail, and aluminum blocks can be used on a conventional rail.

The Light is available in sizes SSR15XW, SSR20XW and SSR25XW.
THK manufacturers the widest range of linear motion products including conventional LM guides, ball screws, mechanical actuators, ball splines and more. All THK products have been designed and manufactured to meet the strictest requirements. THK?s experienced Global Engineering Team can provide customized linear motion solutions with our standard linear motion products as well as our mechatronics products for your most demanding applications.
