Trumpf enhanced its TruBend Series 5000 TruBend Series 5000 precision press brakes further to improve productivity and efficiency in bending. These enhancements include a new visual setup and positioning aid and the new Mobile Control.
The visual setup and positioning aid is comprised of a large number of LED lights positioned in 1 mm increments integrated in the cover of the upper tool clamp. During tool setup the visual setup aid indicates the positions where the bending tools should be loaded. The operator inserts the tools at the location of the LED lights rather than having to read the setup sheet and then locate the tools according to the scale on the machine.
Productivity during the bending process is further increased by the visual positioning aid. It clearly identifies the next bend location, eliminating mistakes and constant reference to the control or setup sheet.
Another enhancement to the TruBend Series 5000 is its new Mobile Control. It is an operation module which can be mounted in the ACB preparation rail in the milled channel on the ram. The Mobile Control offers the most important functions of the operating panel plus the "start" and "stop" button from the TASC6000 controller and can be positioned anywhere across the entire machine length allowing easy operator access at any point.
"Fabricators will experience multiple benefits from these features adding even more efficiency to the TruBend Series 5000 brakes. The operator spends less time referencing plans and travelling to the control. Having everything the operator needs right at his fingertips combined with even shorter set up times, speeds up the bending process," states Shane Simpson, product manager press brakes for TRUMPF.
TruBend Series 5000 press brakes are flexible precision bending machines. Press force ranges from 55 tons up to 360 tons and bending lengths are available from 47 in to 173 in. Additionally, two to six backgauge solutions are available, depending on the complexity and geometry of the parts to be manufactured.
