TRUMPF(Farmington, CT) will demonstrate efficient, cutting edge technology for a wide range of manufacturing applications at IMTS 2008, Booth # B-6108 in the Metal Forming & Fabrication Pavilion. Held September 8 ? 13, at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL., this bi-annual event features the latest advancements in fabricating equipment.

The TruLaser Station 5004, a compact, yet comfortable workstation that accommodates manual and semiautomatic laser welding in even the smallest of spaces, comes sensibly equipped with an integrated protective hood, inert gas feeder, welding fume exhaust system, and safety features.

In addition, the TruLaser Station 5004 offers an electronic stereomicroscope, a first in laser processing. This is ideal for manual precision welding. In contrast to workstations with optical stereomicroscopes, the new microscope has been separated from the laser optics. Now the operator adjusts the monocular of the microscope to the needs of the job and no longer has to orient it to the size of the part.

The two cameras of the microscope offer a complete, three-dimensional exposure of the work pieces. For additional comfort, the work station also displays the laser parameters in the microscope. The stationary work piece of the TruLaser Station 5004 allows for greater precision with simultaneously longer traverse path and higher work piece weight.

"A workstation for laser manual and semiautomatic welding cannot offer more precision or be more comfortable, space saving and efficient than the TruLaser Station 5004 with TruPulse 103 laser, which is integrated into the housing of the TruLaser workstation,? says Juergen Stollhof, product manager. ?We are very pleased to showcase this latest addition to the TruLaser Station product family.?

With 6 kilowatts of pulse power in the millisecond range, the TruPulse 103 allows for welding and cutting in situations where other processes fail. In addition, the dynamic power supply enables extremely short pulse rise times. This, in conjunction with fast, real time power control, provides high pulse-to-pulse stability and consistent processing results.

Efficient and versatile, TRUMPF?s TruLaser Station 5004 with TruPulse 103 provides the optimum solutions for a wide variety of tasks, from individual prototypes with complex geometries to small-scale series.

At IMTS TRUMPF will also showcase its latest beam source addition to the TRUMPF TruLaser family of machines, the TruCoax 3200 laser resonator. Known for its high beam quality and low cost of operation, it was designed specifically for use with the TruLaser 2030 laser cutting machine. This new higher power resonator increases productivity with the same stable, ?no moving parts? design and features a diffusion cooled, highly intense cutting beam in an ultra compact footprint.

In addition, TRUMPF will feature its TruMark Series 3000 and 6000 marking lasers. The TruMark Series 3000 offers a versatile, quality laser marking system, and the TruMark Series 6000 provides high performance in speed and quality.
