COMPACT MACHINING CENTER BUILT FOR SPEED

Okuma offers the Okuma MA-400HA, a compact, high speed, horizontal machining center offering fast creation of precision-crafted components for exceptional profitability.  Ballscrew cooling and a robust hand-scraped base casting ensures excellent rigidity. A high-speed cutting feed of 60 m/min provides near instant access to parts, improving productivity and a max acceleration of 0.7G with rapid traverse rates of 2.362 ipm.

Extremely accurate, the double sleeve spindle cooling system balances the spindle head temperature to prevent deformation. Eliminating thermal effects means speedy and smooth chip ejection, aided by the built-in chip conveyor with center trough and wide chip opening directly underneath the spindle. Aluminum chip removal for the MA-400H can be obtained at 2,700 cubic cm/min using a cutter diameter of 63 mm, a spindle speed of 15,000 rpm and a feed rate of 15,000 mm/min. 

The MA-400HA offers the THINC-OSP control with true-PC, open architecture with an upgraded 1 GB  hard-drive and a standard 30 ATC with options for 40/60/100/152/198 ATC Magazine capacities. Optional spindles can also be selected based on machining needs. The entire MA-H series of horizontals embody Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept – the idea that temperature changes are acceptable when you know how to stabilize machining dimensions. Each model therefore is able to provide even higher accuracy and unequalled stability when equipped with an ideal thermal deformation compensation system.

End-users have a choice between two industry-leading tool management systems provided by ISCAR (Matrix) and Kennametal (ToolBoss) that interface easily through the Okuma THINC control. The ChipBLASTER EV13 High Pressure/High Volume Coolant System automatically pumps enough volume to maintain full pressure. Other systems pump a fixed rate that is always too much or too little causing foam, heat, and short filter life. The double compression filter hold down lid protects both the system and the machine tool from contamination. The super duty pump is durable enough to offer a 2-year warranty. The EV13 is pre-programmed to provide filtered flood coolant in addition to preset pressures of 300, 500, 750, and 1000 PSI standard or any pressures up to 1900 PSI.

Marposs provides a 3-D shape inspector SFT, KIT TT25 CAT40 Probe and Quick SPC software for the MA400-HA cell.  Compatible with the Okuma THINC control, Quick SPC for Windows is a suite of software products designed to comply with any requirement ranging from simple measurement acquisition to complex gauging applications. Framed in a simple, wizard driven, common user interface it is possible to complement the base product by means of software Add-ons purposely conceived for specialized industry fields. Capable of connecting to a variety of analog and digital measuring devices, the fully customizable and integrated software modules enable data acquisition, measurement elaboration, statistical analysis, machine tool compensation, network integration and data storage. 

The Flexible Pallet Container (FPC) from Fastems USA provides machine suppliers with a complete FMS installed in a 'container' and designed for a specific machine tool type. Each FPC contains all the equipment required for an automated pallet storage and handling system. The compact and safe design is easy to transport to the site in one piece and easy to move during factory layout changes. As a cost effective alternative to pallet pools, the FPC is an economical way to add more production capacity to your plant operation and is expandable up to a two-machine system. The  Fastems featured on the MA400-HA cell also features 12 stations (2 levels x 6) and a Stacker Crane.

The ISCAR MATRIX is your total management system to control inventory, streamline purchasing and drive down costs for small organizations to large enterprises. MATRIX combines the most innovative automated tool dispenser with MATRIX-TM, powerful management software. Access to an item stored in MATRIX's locked bins is electronically controlled by the management software according to pre-defined authorizations. Drawer configurations can be swapped-in/out.  Add-on cabinets are connected with a click of a cable and multiple cabinets can be deployed in different locations and networked to run from one common database.
