AMI Metals, Inc. (Nashville, TN), a subsidiary of Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. (Los Angeles, CA), has been named 2008 ?Supplier of the Year? in
the Common Aerospace Commodities category by The Boeing Company. AMI Metals was one of nine companies honored this month for exceptional commitment to excellence in working with Boeing. ?We are pleased to receive this award, as it represents AMI?s commitment to quality and service and validates our success in satisfying the needs of a key customer,? said Scott Smith, President of AMI Metals, Inc.
Steve Schaffer, a Boeing vice president and general manager of Supplier Management integration team said, ?These? suppliers demonstrated outstanding productivity and performance in the past year and exemplify the characteristics we expect.? AMI Metals supports Boeing Integrated Defense Systems programs including the SBInet, C-17, F/A-18E/F, F-22, F-15, V-22,CH-47 and AH-64.
The Boeing Suppliers of the Year represent an elite group among more than 10,800 active Boeing suppliers in nearly 100 countries around the world. This selection was based upon stringent
performance criteria for quality, delivery performance, cost, environmental initiatives, customer service and technical expertise.
