NADCA, The North American Die Casting Association (Wheeling, IL) has released its latest publication, the census of the Die Casting Industry. Conducted for NADCA by TCG Consulting, this report details the latest industry findings on North American die casting business, covering more than 500 captive and custom die casters.

This comprehensive report provides a thorough review of the companies, their capabilities and business activities in the die casting industry and includes the most complete statistical results in the industry. Divided in to four parts, this report includes the count of die casting companies, alloys cast, employment and additional services provided; an analysis of 2007 versus 2008 shipment data and estimates for 2009 and 2010 volumes; die casting machine estimates including size and alloys produced; and an end-market analysis to assist with targeting and planning.

Readers will learn about the additional services die casters offer: The census found that more than 80 percent of die casting members of NADCA offer part finishing operations, including powder coating, plating, shot blasting, deburring and engraving. These additional services assist OEMs and other manufacturers by providing a one-stop shop service. This positions die casters as providers of more value-added services in delivering finished components, ready for assembly; and benefits OEM?s and other manufactures by not outsourcing to multiple suppliers, contributing to their bottom-line.

Says Daniel L. Twarog, President of NADCA ?This report is quite timely, and puts into perspective the contribution die casters make to the manufacturing industry and the economy as a whole.? Twarog continues ?the census on die casting will allow readers to better charter the changes the industry is experiencing and map their operations toward more success?.
