?The Grand Opening of our new European headquarters for Mate Precision Tooling GmbH was a big success, with nearly 200 customers, dealers, OEM partners and dignitaries attending,? reported Frank Baeumler, the managing director and vice president of the tooling manufacturer?s new facilities in Frankfurt, Germany.

Attendees saw demonstrations of the company?s new Thick Turret Tooling, LongLife? tooling systems for Trumpf punch presses, and many product lines that have made it a worldwide tooling leader for CNC turret punch presses. ?Our European goals are to provide more value to end users by helping customers identify opportunities for improvement in their sheet metal fabrication operations,? added Baeumler. ?Important to these manufacturing initiatives are our tool designs that reduce labor costs by eliminating secondary operations, while others improve machine uptime.?

Mate?s U.S. delegation to the Grand Opening included CEO Dean Sundquist and president Kevin Nicholson, both making presentations about the company?s European expansion and future direction. Also attending from the U.S. were Jim Thomas, vice president of international sales and marketing manager John Galich. Dignitaries attending included Hans-Georg Brum, mayor of Oberursel, Germany and Oliver Beil, international affairs and economic development manager of the German state of Hesse. Mate dealers attended from Western and Eastern Europe and Russia.

The new Frankfurt facilities support a three-fold tool manufacturing expansion. The 1500 sq m facilities include the company?s European administrative offices, complete production facilities and a product training center ? all newly designed to improve delivery of products and services to the European fabricating industry.
