Tungaloy America, Inc.?s Japanese headquarters will be transferred from Kawasaki, Kanagawa, to Iwaki, Fukushima, on April 1. The new facility will be the registered headquarters of a business that has three manufacturing sites in Japan. As a part of the IMC Group (Singapore), the development at Tungaloy is part of an investment strategy that considers the medium to long term growth of the Tungaloy Corporation as a core company of the IMC Group.
The new site will see the transfer from Kawasaki to Iwaki of the company president and 120 employees that work in the management, marketing, sales and technical engineering departments.
Bringing all these functions to one facility will improve autonomy between the respective departments and enhance efficiency in the sales and marketing departments and co-ordinate functions with the development and manufacture of new products and materials. The rapid information transfer from planning to development to production and then sales will enable Tungaloy to control and execute programs and measures with exceptional efficiency.
The new office building where the headquarters will be located is a recently constructed, double-story building with a 5800 sq m floor area. This will accommodate a seminar room for 100 visitors as well as a demonstration area with machines to provide product demonstrations, explain product characteristics and communicate the company?s business strategy and future plans to domestic and international visitors and customers.
Alongside the current facilities, Tungaloy is proceeding with the construction of a 15,500 sq m double-story TAC insert factory where the most advanced automation equipment will be installed in light of future production at this factory. The construction will be completed in October. This new factory will be able to double the overall capacity of TAC inserts. Positioned as a new concept-based innovation factory equipped with the most advanced production technology available, the company will strongly promote the production advancements to domestic and international visitors as well as the neighboring community. The company currently has three Japanese manufacturing plants in Iwaki, Nagoya and Nirasaki and this new development will be the catalyst and inspiration to drive the whole company towards its long term goals.
