VACCUM LIFTERS FOR PIPE AND CYLINDERS

Anver offers a lifter with curved foam pad attachments to handle pipe from the top surface without slings or magnets, and a compressed-air-powered lifter to handle large cylinders.

A vacuum lifter for pipe that features curved foam pad attachments to handle a wide variety of pipe from the top surface, without slings or magnets, is available from Anver Corporation (Hudson, MA). The VPE Pipe Vacuum Lifter features an electric-powered vacuum pump that accepts interchangeable pad attachments to fit pipe from 3 to 36 in OD and lengths from 12 to 20 ft, with larger sizes up to 40 ft. Constructed from closed-cell foam with an outside skin and serrated edge which seals tightly against rough surfaces, the pads can handle metals and plastics.

Equipped with an internal check valve to maintain a safe vacuum level in the event of a power failure, the VPE Pipe Vacuum Lifter includes a front control panel with easily accessible gauges, lights, power switches, and an ergonomic handlebar that holds the control pendant. Applications include hot-rolled metal-, ferrous-, non-ferrous, and plastic pipe. The VPE Pipe Vacuum Lifter is priced from $3,995 (list), depending upon capacity. Literature and pricing are available upon request.

Anver also released a compressed air powered vacuum lifter for handling large cylindrical components that require close positioning into assemblies or stacking onto skids. The APU Series Vacuum Lifter is designed for lifting a cylindrical component into an assembly or skid where it needs to be positioned close to others. Designed to assure they are balanced properly, it features a long, narrow suction pad with two plastic guides and an end stop that can be adjusted along a beam, and has two handles to simplify alignment.

Suitable for use under cranes, hoists, balancers, and robots, the APU Series Vacuum Lifter runs on standard shop air and includes a 9-volt battery operated audio-visual alarm system that senses the peak vacuum level during each lifting cycle and triggers if there is a 10 percent loss of vacuum with a leakage rate of less than 1-1/2 in Hg per second from the peak. The APU Series Vacuum Lifter is priced from $2995, depending upon the vacuum pad and guide configuration. Price quotations are available upon request.
