An OD clamping welding end prep tool for heavy-wall small ID tubes with a high percentage of chrome that are found on steam headers and water wall boilers has been introduced by ESCO Tool (Holliston, MA).
The C-HOG MILLHOG® OD Clamping End Prep Tool is up to three times faster than ID clamping welding end prep tools for beveling, facing, and boring highly alloyed, small-bore, heavy-wall steam header tubes. Featuring a large solid clamp with easy-to-change blocks for gripping ½ in to 2-1/2 in tubes, it rigidly mounts to the outside of the tubes and sets up quickly.
Equipped with an attached wrench providing over 1 in of stroke with a ratchet feed, the C-HOG MILLHOG OD Clamping End Prep Tool's rigid clamping design minimizes chatter and vibration, which lets the cutter blades prep quickly without using fluids. This lightweight tool is ideal for beveling and boring small ID tubes where there is unobstructed access to the I.D.
