To improve productivity on high strength carbon steel applications, Hobart Brothers
(Troy, OH) offers its Tri-Mark® Triple 7 gas-shielded flux-cored wire. For use in shipbuilding, railcar construction, repair applications and general fabrication where bead appearance and fast cleanup are important, Triple 7 wire works well for single and multiple pass, all-position welding applications, and operates using either 100 percent CO2 or mixed gases (75 percent Argon/25 percent CO2). Triple 7 also offers fast freezing slag that allows operators to use higher welding currents and boost deposition rates, providing greater overall productivity.

Triple 7 welding wire meets the stringent certifications of the American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) and the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB). It also meets AWS classification E71T-1C H8 (for use with CO2) and E71T-1M H8 (for use with Argon/CO2), and features easily removable slag, even in deep grooved joints, which helps increase operator productivity by minimizing post-weld cleanup.

To meet the needs of a wide variety of end-users, Triple 7 wire is available in a wide range of wire diameters and packaging styles. Wire diameters include .035 in, .045 in, .052 in, and 1/16 in. Hobart Brothers also offers a variety of packaging options that include 10 lb, 33 lb and 50 lb spools, 60 lb coils and 400 lb and 600 lb X-Paks.
