Mazak's (Florence, KY) Integrex i-300S multi-tasking center brings together extreme versatility and accuracy for manufacturers of mid-size, complex components.
The latest space-saving innovation in multi-tasking machining centers from Mazak, the Integrex i-300S's configuration features dual 4,000 rpm spindles for turning with C-axis control. The machine accommodates parts up to 25.9 in diameter and offers a 3.58 in spindle bore. A powerful 30 hp, 12,000 rpm milling spindle is mounted in the vertical rotating B-axis with a range of minus 30 deg to +240 deg. The Integrex i-300S boasts true Y-axis travel of 9.8 in and vertical X-axis of 24.2 in, with 4.92 in below centerline.
Achieving and maintaining higher accuracies are accomplished through several design features including Mazak's unique roller cam drive for the rotating B-axis. It features scale feedback, rigidity and no backlash while reducing friction. The turning spindle, milling spindle and X-axis core ball screw utilize temperature-controlled circulated oil to enhance thermal stability. In addition, the milling spindle is monitored for heat, vibration and displacement as a preventive measure through the Intelligent Performance Spindle (IPS) module.
Installation and maintenance are made easier by the Integrex i-300S's compact footprint, which can fit into tight areas. Plus, the 36-tool changer is front-mounted for easy access. All lubrication points and gages are gathered into a single panel for ease of viewing and maintenance.
