WIDIA Products Group (Latrobe, PA) announced the completion of the brand’s consolidation with MetCut and MetalRemoval tools now moving under the WIDIA Products Group umbrella. The brands will now be known as WIDIA-MetCut and WIDIA-MetalRemoval.

The result of this multi-year consolidation is a complete portfolio of milling, turning, reaming, grooving, precision hole finishing, and other applications from a single source. “From the spindle to the workpiece, WIDIA products provide one-stop shopping for manufacturers seeking tools that get the job done and improve production processes,” says Bernie McConnell, vice president, WIDIA Products Group. The group includes metalworking tools and systems from WIDIA as well as leading specialty products, such as WIDIA-Manchester, WIDIA-Clapp-DiCo, WIDIA-GTD, and WIDIA-Hanita.

McConnell further describes WIDIA as a “tremendous growth opportunity created to maximize our penetration of the growing indirect market channel.” He adds, “We have received excellent feedback from our channel partners on their success introducing a complete metalworking portfolio of products to their customers, and we’ll continue to strengthen and upgrade our channel partners with continued new product introductions and comprehensive training and service events in every region of the world.”

WIDIA-MetalRemoval-brand standard and custom end mills are available in dozens of standard and specialty configurations for roughing, finishing, and many other metalworking tasks. WIDIA-MetalRemoval burs also come in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and cut styles. WIDIA-MetCut products include proprietary-geometry spade drills, reamers with available custom cutting profiles, and port contour cutters that meet ISO specifications, among many others.

“Projections show that customers who buy product through indirect channels will soon represent a $10 billion market in high-performance metalworking,” McConnell adds. “We are building great presence in China, Brazil, Russia, and India, as well as strengthening our position in mature markets such as Europe and the US.”
