He completed over a dozen LEED certification projects, including the Gold certification of Two Premier Plaza in Atlanta under the LEED EB: O&M rating system and the Silver certification of NorthPort Logistics Center in Jacksonville under LEED Core & Shell. Trefzer is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council – Atlanta Branch and is on the Emerging Professionals committee. He has been published in the Atlanta Business Chronicle for evaluating market trends in the greening of commercial real estate and has done several industry presentations on the benefits of LEED certification. He is a graduate of Florida State University. “We’ve come a long way,” said GWCC Assistant General Manager Patrick Skaggs, “but feel that Tim will take us to another level in reaching our sustainability goals. He’s a welcome addition to our Green Team, which is committed to improving our campus’ environmental impact over the long term.”

As sustainability coordinator, Trefzer will develop and implement plans for reaching sustainability goals and objectives for the campus. Additionally, he will work with customers to help them green their events and will also provide recycling assistance to exhibitors and attendees. His background will also enable the GWCCA to provide sustainability education to its staff and to work towards LEED certification of the GWCC.

In FY 2010, the GWCC recycled 54 tons of single-stream waste, including plastic, paper, aluminum and glass, baled and recycled 49 tons of corrugated board, composted 290 tons of food waste, recycled six tons of cooking oil, recycled 1,500 pallets and reduced electrical consumption by 5.7 million kWh. During two different events in the past year alone, the GWCC achieved an overall diversion rate of 64-65 percent. www.gwcc.com

He spent 15 years at General Motors in various capacities, including manufacturing engineer, welding engineer and project coordinator. With a strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, he played a key role at GM in ten successful production launches.

His broad knowledge of resistance welding and advanced manufacturing processes will be of great value in assisting customers to select and integrate a complete range of systems, components and services for metal joining, forming and coating applications, according to the company. Joe Ruggiero also joined the company as a corporate account manager responsible for Ford Motor Company. He has more than 15 years of automotive industry experience implementing and managing welding commodity programs.

For the past 10 years, Ruggiero operated JEC Distributors, a welding component commodity distribution company representing a host of international suppliers to domestic and transplant OEM and Tier manufacturers, including CenterLine consumable and component products for the Canadian and north U.S. markets during this time. In his new capacity, he will manage commodity supply commitments and standard component product sales to Ford operations throughout North America. recently promoted Bob Piracini to Marketing Specialist to lead the new machine tools division and assist clients in determining which bearing technologies would be most suitable by taking into consideration the specifications, recommendations, maintenance strategies, fatigue life and wear resistance of the bearing in relation to the application. These clients are typically spindle repair and machinery rebuilds ranging from regional and national small operations to large companies. Piracini will continue to travel throughout New England several times a year, visiting companies and promoting the company. Previously, he held the position of Sales Representative at Emerson Bearing for 14 years. appointed Robert Sharpe as Operations Manager for its Central region. He joined Hydro in 2009 as one of the Central region’s territory sales managers.

“He has more than 13 years of experience managing large teams, while consistently increasing safety, service and productivity,” said Rhonda Wright, Hydro vice president and general manager in the Central region. “He has been instrumental in establishing solid relationships with customers in the Iowa territory, as well as bringing in new key accounts. I am confident that the Monett extrusion facility will thrive under his leadership.”

In his new role, Sharpe will be responsible for achieving Monett tactical objectives and milestones through the implementation of strategic, safety, and quality initiatives, as well as upcoming capital investments in the plant. In addition, Sharpe will have direct accountability for customer satisfaction and profitability. Prior to joining Hydro, Sharpe has held operations management positions with Indalex, one of North America’s largest independent suppliers of aluminum extrusions, which was bought by SAPA in August 2009. Earlier in his career, Sharpe worked for EASCO Aluminum as a paint department manager and extrusion supervisor. He attended Tunxis Community College (Farmington, CT) and has been certified with Development Dimensions International as an instructor in facilitating various frontline supervisor training modules. www.hydro.com/northamerica

Krasley began his career in the 1970s with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He went on to spend ten years with Mack Trucks in a variety of areas, including the Mack Engine Test Center in Allentown, PA. Over the past 25 years, he has served in a number of executive positions, including vice president of operations, vice president of sales and marketing, and most recently, vice president of product development with Advanced Lubrication Specialties, Inc.
