These MIG welding step-switched power sources optimize a wide variety of filler metals and gases for auto repair, general steel fabrication, other auto and transportation applications, civil construction, mobile machinery, foundries, shipyards and pipeworks.

Origo MIG 320, 410 and 510 from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products (Florence, SC) are 230/460 V 3 ph 60 Hz step-switched power sources for medium (320) to heavy-duty (410 and 510) MIG welding. These powerful, flexible machines offer a wide current and voltage range that make it easy to optimize settings for a wide variety of filler metals and gases. This makes the Origo machines ideal for a wide variety of applications including auto repair, general steel fabrication, auto and transportation, civil construction, mobile machinery, foundries, shipyards and pipeworks.

Other power source features designed to produce outstanding welding characteristics include selectable inductance taps, easy change of polarity, connection cable length up to 114 ft (35 m) and a digital meter that provides an accurate reading of the set welding parameters and will hold its display even after welding has finished. An idle mode allows the cooling fan to work only when needed for greater power efficiency and noise reduction.

The machines are optimized to operate with ESAB’s Origo Feed 304 wire feeder. This feeder features electronically controlled feeding to ensure an accurate and stable arc. Other features include 2/4 stroke, adjustable burn-back timer, creep start and quick connectors to simplify set up. The wire feed unit sits on a swivel post mounted on the top of the Origo MIG machine, providing a 360 deg radius of operation. All electronic components are protected in a separate compartment. The feeder mechanism is easy to access, and all wear parts can easily be exchanged. A single pressure adjustment makes it easy to set the appropriate feeding pressure. Multiple mounting options, including counterbalance boom and mast, wheel kit or hanging bracket, are also available. The feeders are available with 1.8 in diameter (30 mm) feed rollers for wires up to .062 in diameter (1.6 mm). The wire feed speed ranges from 31 to 1000 ipm.
