Perfect for farm, garage, hobby/DIY, artistic metal working, small job shops, maintenance and repair applications, these durable MIG guns use a patent-pending design that provides light-duty welders with attractive value pricing.
Responding to the needs of non-industrial fabrication MIG gun users, the Tweco brand of Thermadyne® Industries (St. Louis, MO) expanded its WeldSkill line to include a series of durable guns with a patent-pending design that provides light-duty welders with attractive value pricing.
These units include 125 amp, 140 amp, 180 amp and 220 amp MIG guns that are perfect for farm, garage, hobby/DIY, artistic metal working, small job shops, and maintenance and repair applications. These guns are designed to specifically accommodate the welding practices of non-industrial users.
The ergonomic handle has a slight curvature to maneuver easily in different welding positions, which is required in small job shops or during light welding. There are no brass blocks inside the handle, as found in traditional gun designs, so they are light weight, cooler for operator comfort, and easier to control for various applications and welding positions.
The guns use a jacketed, durable brass tube to protect the patented through-the-tube Cablehoz™, and the steel spring strain relief at the base of the guns adds durability. Long-life triggers on the guns have been tested to provide more that 1.2 million cycles without failure.
“We recognize that job shops are looking for economical ways to stretch their operating costs and that other welders are reluctant to invest in expensive equipment,” said Indy Datta, the Tweco product manager. “These users, however, want machinery that will last and perform well. Our WeldSkill guns will be attractive to these markets because they will be lower in price than anything comparable on the market and will drive additional traffic to our distributors and expand their customer base.”
The guns are now available in the United States and Canada.
