During the week of May 2, 2012, Switzerland-based Bystronic officially celebrated the grand opening of the new headquarters of Bystronic Inc. (Elgin, IL), their North American subsidiary. Approximately 550 people attended the multi-day event which began with the official ribbon cutting ceremony on May 2 and concluded with a friends-and-family day on May 5.

The ribbon cutting was conducted by Robert Suter, CEO of the parent Conzzeta Group; Ferdi Toengi, CEO of Bystronic; Johan Elster, the head of Europe North and North American Regions; and Robert St. Aubin, the president of Bystronic Inc. Dignitaries included the mayor of Elgin, David Kaptain, and members of the Elgin City Council and Chamber of Commerce.

The event was well attended by officials of both the local and industry trade press. Bystronic CEO Toengi, and Edward Youdell, the president of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, each presented plaques commemorating the grand opening event to Bystronic president Robert St. Aubin. Guests attending the three-day event included Bystronic customers, invited guests, suppliers, friends and family members.

The new multi-million dollar North American headquarters, located at 200 Airport Road in in Elgin, comprises a 48,300 sq ft structure complete with 10,000 sq ft of office space, a 14,000 sq ft showroom, and a 24,300 sq ft spare parts and logistics area.
