Trophy Work: Moving from Art to Part

Check out how Blue Chip Engineering was able to engineer and machine a complex, mobile sculpture for renowned designer Tom Shannon using advanced CADCAM software from Gibbs and Associates.

Posted: August 22, 2012

The required detail and patience pay off with the engineering, programming and machining challenges that Denny enjoys from working with Shannon, and the association of his work with worthwhile causes. Also, as often happens when one’s work is admired, Blue Chip was rewarded with a new client when Joe Clinton had the shop engineer, machine, polish and assemble his “Radix Universum Triplets-egression,” a mathematically-based sculpture of polished aluminum. In June 6 Denny added the satisfaction of seeing the Shannon-Clinton designed, Blue Chip made, OmniOculi sculpture in the hands of another contributor to humanitarian causes.
