These new horizontal machining centers use high power 40 taper and 50 taper spindles that are well suited for high precision and rapid metal removal applications, including automotive, firearms, orthopedics, electronics and die mold.
Enshu USA Corporation (Schaumburg, IL) will feature all four models of their new GE Series Horizontal Machining Centers. With pallets ranging from 400 mm to 630 mm and high speed, high power 40 taper and 50 taper spindles, the GE Series are ideal for a wide range of machining applications where both high precision and rapid metal removal are required.
Two of the GE Series machines feature 40 taper spindles: the 400 mm pallet GE460H and the 500 mm pallet GE480H. Their 29.5 hp, 15,000 rpm spindles are paired with rapid traverse rates of 3,543 ipm. These versatile machining centers are well suited for applications including automotive, firearms, orthopedics, electronics and die mold.
The 500 mm pallet GE580H and 630 mm pallet GE590H incorporate 50 taper spindles with 40 horsepower and up to 10,000 rpm. With their large travels, these machines are designed for high volume metal removal applications such as airframe, valve and larger die molds.
GE Series Horizontal Machining Centers boast cross-roller linear guide ways for optimum rigidity. The spindles, ball screws and servo motor mounts are refrigerated and temperature controlled within ±1 deg C of ambient for superior accuracy through thermal stability. As with all Enshu horizontal and vertical machining centers, the GE Series are designed to satisfy Enshu’s demanding MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) and MTTR (Mean Time To Recovery) program requirements. www.enshuusa.com
