This fiber laser cutting system provides an advantage to fabricators competing in the sheet metal cutting, wafer cutting, stencil, gasket and/or solar cell cutting market segments.

The K2CM L1 from K2 LASER SYSTEM Inc. (Seoul, Korea) is a 2 kW or 3 kW fiber laser cutting system that is ideal for cutting large sheets of mild steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, alloy, solar cell, PCB, film, ceramic, silicon wafer, and fuel cell material.

This machine provides an advantage to fabricators competing in the sheet metal cutting, wafer cutting, stencil, gasket and/or solar cell cutting market segments.

The K2CM L1 uses a wide width cutting bed for maximum productivity, providing cutting bed sizes of 450 x 450 mm, 800 x 450 mm, 1200 x 2400 mm, and 1500 x 3000 mm. Cutting speed is two times faster than a conventional laser cutting machine.

The system provides easy–to-switch over different laser sources, according to the customers’ request. The 2 kW laser source achieves a maximum cutting thickness of 15 mm mild steel, 6 mm stainless, 3 mm copper, 6 mm aluminum and 4 mm brass. The 3 kW laser source cuts a maximum thickness 18 mm mild steel, 10 mm stainless, 8 mm aluminum, 6 mm brass, and 5 mm copper.

The system provides supreme precision motion control by linear motor and uses an automatic pallet changer for loading and unloading sheet metal while the machine is running. There is a Z-axis calibration function for the flexible surface sensing conducted by the auto focus cutting head, with easy-to-adjust focus length and easy-to-replace focus lens for cutting with a wave length of 1,070 nm. Automatic N2, O2 assist gas pressure control.

The machine uses a supply voltage of 220V/1P, 380V/3P, 50~60Hz with a water cooling system. Control software stores the cutting data for individual materials with thickness and easy-to-use. There is a self-drawing and adjusting function for the CAD files, and the control is capable of importing DWG, DXG, DXF, EPS files. It also enables the verification of open shapes and closes itself .

The software combines individual parts in a nest to make the best use of the sheet metal, and defines the fastest processing sequence for maximum productivity, including micro joint and bridge cutting functions. The system can automatically create the complete NC code and transmit it to the machine. The starting cutting position can be adjusted according to the X, Y coordinates of any position of the laser head. www.k2laser.com
