Leader presents a comprehensive look at what factors companies must evaluate when making manufacturing and sourcing decisions.
Manufacturing stakeholders and reshoring leaders from all industries and regions have gathered at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown in the Key Center in Cleveland, OH for the inaugural Reshoring Summit: Bringing Manufacturing Back to the U.S., produced by Infocast.
The opening-day events of this program, which is running from March 12-14, include an in-depth presentation by Harry Moser, the founder of the Reshoring Initiative, on “The Reshoring Assessment: A Total-Cost Analysis.” He focuses on establishing the proper procedures when considering reshoring.
A 45-year manufacturing industry veteran and retired president of GF AgieCharmilles (Lincolnshire, IL), Harry Moser
founded the Reshoring Initiative to move lost jobs back to the United States. For his efforts with the Reshoring Initiative, he was named to Industry Week magazineʼs Manufacturing Hall of Fame in 2010.
His two-hour session takes a comprehensive look at what factors companies must evaluate when making manufacturing and sourcing decisions. One such factor Moser discusses is assessing the total cost of offshoring compared to the cost of U.S. manufacturing or sourcing. He also reviews the necessary cost components for determining accurate financial scenarios.
The Reshoring Summit brings together manufacturers, suppliers, governmental development organizations, site selectors, consultants and key reshoring leaders for an opportunity to discuss the issues surrounding the reshoring movement. This event includes educational sessions, case study reviews and interactive panels.
The three-day summit also offers participants the opportunity to build valuable relationships through critically informed networking. “The Reshoring Summit is the first national event of its kind focused entirely on reshoring,” said Moser. “This is a unique opportunity for manufacturers to discover the benefits of making better sourcing decisions. Throughout this summit, attendees learn how to sell against offshore competitors, obtain tools to retain and attract companies to their regions, and receive additional reshoring support.”
In addition to Moser, summit faculty includes Walter Snodell of Peerless Industries, Tobias Schoenherr of Michigan State University, Hope Paolini of Suarex Manufacturing, Scott Paul of the Alliance for American Manufacturing and Kristi Tanner of Jobs Ohio.
