No More Tweak and Repeat

This CNC bender from Eagle Bending Machines creates an extremely efficient process that is capable of producing accurate, repetitive bends that reduce material waste and save valuable production time.

The BA50 bender operates the exclusive BPR Direct Radius “PRO-Bending” program on a rugged steel frame that is normalized and produced on CNC machining centers, with high strength steel shafts that are heat-treated and ground, and drive components and shafts in journal roller bearings. This machine is configured with an oil bath speed reducer and high efficiency final drive with a bi-directional TEFC electric motor and variable rotation speed using a motor converter and solid-state electronic driver.

The internal layout includes a hydraulic powered forming roll, with a guide block moving on hardened slide-ways under a protective cover, a hydraulic power unit with overload relief and PO non-return valves incorporated into the machine housing, with 3-way adjustable and heavily dimensioned dual lateral material guides.

The floor model machine operates in both vertical and horizontal positions and rests on isolating pads. It uses low voltage controls on a remote ensure precise repeat positioning of the bending roll. The system comes with operating and maintenance tools, an instruction manual, coiling, pipe bending, wide flat bending and other special tooling that is available.

Special features on the BA50 bender include a variable speed forming roll that travels via a MOOG servo-valve for immediate response and micro adjustments, a variable speed rotation drive via a solid-state electronic motor inverter, with rotation on precision SKF bearings through switch-gear and secondary Siemens controls. The controls include an on-line modem machine diagnostic routine. The hydraulic system temperature is maintained by an integral air/oil cooler on an automatic cycle.

The hydraulic and electronic circuit is on a timed protective automatic shut-down that provides an “energy saving mode.” A profile translation encoder equipped with adjustable contact pressure generates precise linear readings. The system also uses a key switch security lock out, an internal on-board industrial self-contained PC w/ floppy drive and an RS-232 serial port.

The bender control runs Automatic Interpolation software to blend curve-to-curve or curve-to-straight program blocks. It has Auto Mirror Image capabilities to reduce programming time by up to 75 percent.

Graphic Imaging is used to display final part shape per data input to facilitate operator input, full automated internal bending angle or radius calculations, point to point, interpolation, teach-in or automatic input modes.

The machine runs by CNC pilot or manual pilot operation with a menu-driven drop down screen. It has PC mouse pointer programming on-board with a 10 in screen, a dust and moisture proof monitor screen, unlimited archive program storage with on-board hard drive or floppy drive.
