The grinder is used to sharpen punch press tooling and will be used to train students in the college’s Precision Sheet Metal labs who may one day be employed by customers of Wilson Tool. Anoka Technical College offers a short-term Precision Sheet Metal certificate that leads directly to employment. For additional information about this program, contact Nick Graff, the director of the Advanced Technology Center, at 763-576-4788.

“Anoka Technical College is the only local training center that offers employable skills for the sheet metal fabrication industry – which is what our customers are focused on,” said Chris Lawless, the president of Wilson Tool. “By donating the grinder, we are helping create a better educational experience that will provide the necessary skills that will help graduates find jobs in the sheet metal industry.”

In other news, the company has changed the name of Exacta Precision and Exacta FabTool to Wilson Tool Canada. The new name more accurately represents the integration of the two Canadian divisions into Wilson Tool operations.
