The manufacturer of premium band saw blades, power tool accessories and hand tools again passes the requirements of the international standard for quality systems.
LENOX (East Longmeadow, MA), a leading manufacturer of premium band saw blades, power tool accessories and hand tools, announces the successful completion of the annual ISO 9001 surveillance audit.
The company first achieved certification in 1993, and at the time was the first U.S.-based band saw blade manufacturer to obtain certification.
Twenty years later, the firm continues to demonstrate a commitment to quality by meeting – and often exceeding – the standard, which has gone through a number of revisions since being issued back in 1987.
“LENOX continues to meet the requirements of the international standard for quality systems. This is just one of the many examples of the efforts that LENOX puts into quality assurance, superior product design, and world-class customer satisfaction,” states Dave Robinson, the firm’s director of manufacturing operations.
The ISO 9001 surveillance audits are conducted by independent third party organizations that are approved and accredited to conduct audits to the standard. The audit covers a number of issues and processes, including:
- Management responsibility, commitment, and resource allocation
- Review of quality systems and records, including Document Control, Management Review and Continual Improvement records and data, Internal Auditing, and Corrective and Preventive Action
- Purchasing and Purchased Product Verification and Test
- Employee Training
- Manufacturing Review
- Overall infrastructure and work environment
