Over 1,000 students expressed interest in touring the tooling manufacturer’s Mentor, OH facilities through a local agency that promotes manufacturing careers to students in Northeast Ohio.

Roll-Kraft (Mentor, OH) recently hosted a group of local middle school students. The group of seventh- and eighth-grade students toured the facility in small groups, to allow more personal attention to the student during the visit. Each group toured the factory, the engineering department, and the offices. For many, this was their first visit to a manufacturing facility.

This tour was in conjunction with Roll-Kraft’s relationship with AWT (Alliance for Working Together), a local agency that promotes manufacturing careers to students in Northeast Ohio. Through the AWT, over 1,100 students expressed interest in touring manufacturing facilities. In addition to Roll-Kraft, groups of students visited multiple production facilities in the area, as well.

The Roll-Kraft tour was followed by lunch and a time for questions from the students. They were very interested to see the amount of computer involvement in the production of Roll-Kraft’s tooling, as well as taking note of the cleanliness of the factory.

Roll-Kraft is very active in informing local students about the opportunities available to them in the field of manufacturing. The company participates in many events throughout the year with this emphasis, including the annual RoboBots competition.

Roll-Kraft is known as a leading producer of tooling for the tube and pipe and roll forming industries. There are 50 CNC (computer numerical control) machines in production every day at Roll-Kraft to meet the demands of the marketplace. It is important that the next generation of the workforce see the stability of being a part of a company dedicated to constant improvement and pursuit of excellence for their customers.
