Brunson Instrument Company highlighted motorized vertical tooling bar at control show in Germany. Metrology users can view MVTB and target holder kits.
Brunson Instrument Company (Kansas, MO), a leading provider of metrology stands and accessories, recently featured a large-scale motorized vertical tooling bar (MVTB) with a new small footprint design at the Control Show, an international trade fair for quality assurance, at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre in Stuttgart, Germany.
Brunson’s line of MVTBs provides users of laser trackers, laser radar, theodolites and other portable measurement devices with a stable metrology platform at high elevations up to 34 ft (10.4 m) above the plant floor. The MVTB is a Brunson built-to-order product. Control attendees will be able to view the MVTB in Hall 5, at Brunson’s Stand/Booth 5306.
The customer’s metrology instrument is mounted on a motor driven carriage that is outfitted with a standard 3½ in-8 thread. A hand-held pendant moves the carriage up and down the vertical rail. A motor brake holds the carriage in case of a power outage. Users can move the measurement devices around the shop floor using the casters (manually retracted trivet feet) under the heavy-duty tribrach base, or by low-speed towing vehicles.
Also at the Control Show, Brunson Instrument Company featured their new line of Target Holder Kits, available in metric and English collections. Each standard kit comes in a foam-lined, waterproof case with an assortment of target holders and accessories for 0.5 in and/or 1.5 in diameter Retro-reflectors (SMR, CCR, TBR, etc.). Utilized by laser tracker users for portable measurement tasks, Brunson’s certified and serialized target holders make it easier to measure standard geometric features such as holes, edges, corners, surfaces, diameters, and hidden points.
The heat-treated and hardened stainless steel target holders are precision manufactured and laser etched with a part number and serial number for improved component management and identification. The serial number and the NIST-traceable measurements are documented in a certificate provided and available online for 24/7 access.
