TÜV Rheinland Hosts AWS West Michigan Meeting
West Michigan welding businesses gather at TÜV Rheinland’s laboratory to learn about testing and inspection methods.

West Michigan section of the American Welding Society (AWS) held its first meeting of the fiscal year at TÜV Rheinland Industrial Solutions’ (Caledonia, MI) (TRIS) laboratory TRIS is a full-service company assisting welding businesses with necessary testing, inspections and certifications according to the AWS codes and regulations.
TRIS’ Steve Farran, Radiography Technician, and Michael Belcher, field service manager, showcased such non-destructive weld testing methods as X-rays, ultrasonic testing and phased array testing. Attendees toured TRIS’ facility and learned about the materials testing and inspection services that the company provides to global customers in accordance with numerous domestic and international requirements.
The AWS holds educational meetings to advance the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes. TÜV Rheinland Industrial Solutions is a full-service inspection, testing and certification company providing both field and laboratory inspection services. A subsidiary of TUV Rheinland North America, TRIS laboratory and field services are ISO 17025 accredited, and its mechanical laboratory services are both Nadcap and ISO accredited.
