Graebener-Reika, Inc. (GRI; Reading, PA) a provider of machinery for processing tube, pipe, bar, plate and sheet, offers its Graebener Maschinentechnik pipe forming presses for producing large diameter line pipe used in pipeline or utility distribution systems. These presses are suited for producing pipes with increased yield points and large wall thickness-to-pipe diameter ratios, where the forces required exceed the physical limits of traditional roll bending machines.
A key advantage of this press is its ability to form an extensive range of pipe sizes without having to change the tool, providing both a production and price advantage. It can process large format plates into pipes with a diameter range of 16 in to 64 in, lengths up to 60 ft, wall thickness of up to 2.92 in, and grades as challenging as x1200 and x120. For regular wall thickness applications, a special bending shoe can be used to adapt the machine. No tool change required to produce varying sizes.
Graebener-Reika’s extensive pipe forming knowledge-base and equipment offering enable the company to serve as a one-stop shop for line pipe producers. In addition to the Graebener Maaschininentechnik forming press, the company can support the entire pipe forming process with post-forming machines that include root-tack welding presses, edge bending presses, straightening/calibration presses, end-facer/bevelers, hydrotesters, and more.
