MIG Gun Liner System Reduces Downtime, Addresses Burnbacks and Wire-Feeding Issues

The Quick Load™ Liner AutoLength™ System from Tregaskiss helps reduce wire-feeding problems and also decreases burnbacks, along with premature contact tip failure and wear associated with misalignment between the liner and contact tip.

In the MIG gun liner system from Tregaskiss, a spring-loaded module housed inside the power pin applies constant pressure on the liner, keeping it seated properly in the retaining head (or diffuser) at all times. The system allows for up to one inch (2.54 cm) forgiveness and it also accommodates liner movement during welding.

To minimize costly downtime and prevent quality problems associated with incorrect MIG gun liner length, Tregaskiss (Windsor, ON) offers its Quick Load™ Liner AutoLength™ System. This system can be used with guns equipped with Quick Load™ Liners, specifically the Bernard™ T-Gun™ Semi-Automatic Gun and Tregaskiss™ Robotic MIG Guns. The system helps reduce wire-feeding problems and also decreases burnbacks, along with premature contact tip failure and wear associated with misalignment between the liner and contact tip.

Once the AutoLength Pin has been installed at the rear of the gun, a Tregaskiss Quick Load Liner can then be installed from the front end of the MIG gun in less than half the time and effort of a conventional MIG gun liner replacement — and without the need to cut and waste wire. Quick Load Liners also allow the MIG gun to remain attached to the wire feeder during changeover, eliminating the need to climb up to remove semi-automatic guns connected to a boom wire feeder. They also allow welding operators to change the liner from a safe zone in a robotic cell during routine pauses in operation.

An overview of the revolutionary The QUICK LOAD™ Liner AutoLength™ System.

To simplify an upgrade to the Quick Load Liner AutoLength System, Tregaskiss has developed a System Upgrade Chart that provides part numbers for the system according to common wire diameters and wire feeders from popular manufacturers. Also as reference, Tregaskiss has made available a helpful brochure.
