COE Press Equipment (Sterling Heights, MI) recently installed two new coil feeding lines for steel processor Liberty Steel at its Warren, OH and Saltillo, Mexico facilities to support heavy gauge blanking operations. With the addition of these two lines, Liberty Steel now has seven COE coil processing lines installed at its manufacturing plants.
“Establishing long-term customer relationships is a critical part of the our business process,” said COE general sales manager Jim Ward. “We appreciate the partnership with customers such as Liberty Steel, who learn to trust and rely upon us for equipment and service support.”
Both of the new Liberty Steel lines are specified to process heavy gauge and high strength steels with yield strengths up to 85,000 psi. The Saltillo line can process .210 in thick x 54 in wide material and handle coils up to 50,000 lb. The Warren line is designed to process .250 in thick x 42 in wide and also handle coils up to 50,000 lb. Both blanking lines are configured with looping pits for optimum material storage and have maximum line speed rating of 100 fpm.
The key component of each line is the new CPPS-507 series heavy-duty power straightener. This straightener is provided with hi-flight backups that eliminate roll deflection and provide the material flatness results required for blanking operations. The straighteners use seven straightener rolls with independently adjusted upper rolls via heavy-duty screw jacks. Straightening power is provided by 75 hp AC variable speed drives with full vector control.
COE Press Equipment designs and manufactures a complete line of premiere coil handling and servo roll feed equipment from stand-alone roll feeds, straighteners, reels, cradles and air feeds to complete integrated feed line systems including the heaviest and widest coil feeding systems available for the metalstamping industry today. The company supplies and services a wide variety of global markets and industries including automotive, appliance, lighting, metal processing, housewares, lawn and garden, contract stampers, tool and die builders, and many others.
