Mazak Reorganizes in Southeast U.S.

This plan changes how machine tools and services are sold and supported for the brand in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida.

Posted: August 26, 2014

Mazak Corporation (Florence, KY) has launched a strategic reorganization that will enable the company and three of its distributor partners to intensify service and support for customers in the Southeast region of the United States. This forward-thinking plan will change how Mazak machine tools and manufacturing solutions are sold and supported in the area as well as grow market share for the brand in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida.

Premier Engineering LLC, which the company named its distributor for Georgia last February, is expanding its business into the state of South Carolina. Machine Tech will continue its aggressive marketing and distribution efforts for Mazak products in North Carolina and Virginia, while Premier Machinery will do the same for Florida.

According to Brian Papke, the president of Mazak Corporation, the new structure will bring a better balance and cohesiveness to the company’s product distribution in the Southeast. “We believe this strategic change will further enhance applications, service and sales support for customers in this region as well as continue our growth in the region,” he noted.

All three distributors will work integrally with the Mazak’s Southeast Technology Center, located in Suwanee, GA. The service and support personnel from each distributor location will collaborate with the Technology Center’s process and applications engineering staff to help manufacturers generate the most innovative solutions for increasing productivity, efficiency and equipment utilization.

Mazak is a leader in the design and manufacture of productivity-improving machine tool solutions. Committed to being a partner to customers with innovative technology, its world-class facility in Florence, Kentucky, produces over 100 models of turning centers, Multi-Tasking machines and vertical machining centers, including 5- axis models.

Continuously investing in manufacturing technology allows the Kentucky plant to be the most advanced and efficient machine tool builder, providing high-quality and reliable products through its “Production-On-Demand” manufacturing practice. The company maintains eight Technology Centers across North America to provide local hands-on applications, service and sales support to its customers.
