The VMC850E has travels of 33 in X, 19 in Y, and 21 in Z. The machine comes standard with an 8,000 rpm 40 taper spindle, 24 position automatic tool changer, coolant through the spindle, 4th axis preparation, air-conditioned electrical cabinet and a chip conveyor. The machine is controlled by the powerful and reliable FANUC 0i-MD control with a 10 in screen and USB, PCMIA, and Ethernet interfaces.

SMTCL-Americas (City of Industry, Los Angeles, CA) will display their new VMC850E vertical machining center at IMTS in Chicago in Booth S-8148 in the Metal Cutting Pavilion of the South Hall.

Designed for North American job shops must compete in the world market, the VMC850E is a small, reliable, and rugged machining center that is effective in machining a variety of materials, including composites, ceramics, aluminum, steel, and titanium.

“We have developed the VMC850E configuration based on years of working with job shops,” says chief operating officer Jerry McCarty. “Owners and operators love the features we have made standard on this low cost vertical machining center. The compact layout, large side doors, and extended axis travels make a big difference for a small shop.”
