ERMC (Elk River Machine Company; Elk River, MN), a leader in contract manufacturing and concrete processing equipment, has announced the addition of George Murray as the organization’s new president. Murray is taking over leadership of the company from retiring president, Jim Barthel, whose father Lloyd began the business in 1961. ERMC is part of Cretex Companies, Inc.
“George comes to us with strong operations experience in a variety of industries and roles in which he has consistently driven operational improvements and strong revenue growth,” said Jeff Wollerman, the chief operating officer of Cretex. “His strong operational experience, coupled with his excellent communication and leadership skills position him well for his role at ERMC.”
Receiving his undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration from the University of Phoenix, Murray previously served as the vice president of Smartrac Technologies, a manufacturer of high security RFID (radio frequency identification) inlays, where his responsibilities included operations in North America, Europe and Brazil. In addition to his professional experience, Murray is a decorated war veteran with the U.S. Army, and a black belt in Lean Six Sigma, a managerial concept combining lean manufacturing and lean enterprise.
Since 1961, ERMC has served industrial markets with large-scale contract manufacturing and concrete processing equipment. The company is ISO and lean certified, and continues to provide customers with enduring principles of quality, value and a partnership approach to doing business.
