The welding distributor continues to provide welding gases, consumables and equipment from the same offices and distribution centers across the country.

Indura (Palmdale, CA) became part of Air Products in 2012 and now some adjustments are being made to its entire organization. As a result, the company announced it was no longer maintaining direct operations in the United States.

However, the management team heading the operations for Indura in the U.S. decided to continue servicing their loyal network of independent distributors. Operating through their own company, NYCO Inc., and doing business as Strongweld, the new entity will continue providing the same high performance quality products from the same offices and distribution centers in the United States and offering the same personalized and committed customer service levels.

Hernan Cuevas, the chief executive officer of NYCO, states, “We will devote our best efforts to build a company that flourishes on a strong set of values and which believes in establishing long term alliances and that our success depends on our ability to provide our clients with effective solutions to compete in the industry. Our commitment to serve independent distributors only remains unchanged”.

Air Products provides atmospheric, process and specialty gases; performance materials; equipment; and technology. For over 70 years, the company has enabled customers to become more productive, energy efficient and sustainable.

More than 18,000 employees in over 40 countries supply innovative solutions to the energy, environment and emerging markets. These include semiconductor materials, refinery hydrogen, coal gasification, natural gas liquefaction, and advanced coatings and adhesives. In fiscal 2011, Air Products had sales of approximately $10 billion.

Founded in 1948 in Santiago, Chile, Indura is the largest independent industrial gases company in South America, with $478 million/CLP 244 billion in annual revenues.

The company operates in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru and has a distribution network in Central America, Bolivia and Uruguay. Its regional presence includes over 20 production plants, over 40 filling sites, more than 100 retail outlets and more than 2,300 employees.

NYCO, New York Commercial Office Inc., is a family-owned business established by Hernan Cuevas and his wife, Leslie Tampier, both Chilean professionals with an extensive experience and a solid academic background in marketing and business development.

In 2001, the couple moved to New York and started a thriving business consulting firm which has supported many international companies starting up operations in the United States.
