New High Performance Alloy to Enter Markets

The new alloy will target North America and Europe for revenues expected to exceed $10 million in the first three to five years of production.

IBC Advanced Alloys Corp. (Vancouver, BC) reports that its Copper Alloys division is partnering with Baoshida Swissmetal Ltd. (Reconvilier, Switzerland) and Avins USA Inc. (Piscataway, NJ) to manufacture a high performance alloy for use in multiple markets and applications. The initial business development focus will be targeted North American and European opportunities with revenues expected to exceed $10 million in the first three to five years of production.

IBC is an integrated manufacturer and distributor of rare metals (beryllium) based alloys and related products serving a variety of industries including nuclear energy, automotive, telecommunications and a range of industrial applications. The company has 80 employees and production facilities in Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Missouri that create a dynamic global beryllium and advanced alloys company.

Baoshida Swissmetal is an integrated manufacturer and distributor of high quality, specialty products made from copper and copper alloys serving the electronics, aerospace, military, oil and gas exploration, automotive, and consumer goods industries. The company has 250 employees in two production facilities in Reconvilier and Dornach, Switzerland.

Jean-Pierre Tardent, the chief executive officer, proudly announced the upcoming partnership with IBC Advanced Alloys and said, “Driven by requests from our technically demanding customers from around the world, we look forward to the partnership with them which will expand our product offering in high performance alloys.”

Avins USA is a 60-year-old, family-owned company specializing in the engineering and design support, supply chain management, and distribution of globally sourced high quality metal and alloy products. The companyy has four offices (New Jersey, Los Angeles, Chicago and Guadalajara) and twelve warehouses located throughout North America with a comprehensive product line of specialty bars, rods, wires, tubing, strip, foils, forgings, castings, billets and custom-extruded profiles.

Avins has been the exclusive North American distributor for Baoshida Swissmetal for over 40 years and is the ideal partner for this new alloy project.
