From American manufacturing to charitable organizations to fledgling engineers, Kahn Tools understands the true meaning of “giving back. When Mark Kahn started Kahn Tools (Woodland Hills, CA) – the online distributor that exclusively sells American made industrial supplies – he wanted to give something back to the hard working Americans who were the cornerstone of his past success.
Prior to his retirement, Mark was the president of Production Tool Supply Company (Warren, MI), one of the largest distributors in the United States. He spent his entire career selling industrial supplies to American businesses. But as he watched the decline of the manufacturing base in this country, he decided to do something about it.
He came out of retirement to create Kahn Tools. “I wanted to show my support for the American manufacturers and workers who have built our great country,” explains Mark. “Giving back is a core tenet of our business model. Our company has donated a portion of our gross sales to a different charity every month since the company opened its doors in 2012.”

Kahn Tools has donated to over 20 different charities so far, primarily benefiting military veterans, children and families. The company was presented with another opportunity to give back when a robotics team from High Tech Los Angeles – a charter school in Van Nuys, CA – requested donations for much-needed tools and supplies.
Their robotics team – Team 4 ELEMENT – participates each year in an international robotics competition called FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). They compete to gain an understanding of engineering, connect the community to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and to possibly earn a scholarship. In their very first regional competition in 2006, they took first place.
When Team 4 ELEMENT submitted their long list of tools, Kahn Tools donated the entire lot. “This is an opportunity to help our country’s future engineers get their start,” adds Mark. “These students represent America’s best and brightest, and they deserve our help.”
Kahn Tools believes in the future of American business, in preserving jobs for American workers, and in good, old-fashioned American quality. The Los Angeles based company is dedicated to supporting American industry. Determined to put a stop to the outsourcing of American jobs, Kahn Tools sells ONLY American-made industrial products.
