LDI Announces New Group GM
Ross Hughes is now responsible for the strategic alignment and operations of CNC milling and turning machine tool brands.

Liberty Diversified International (LDI; Minneapolis, MN) has promoted Ross Hughes to group general manager for its Manufacturing Technology Group, which manufactures computer numerical control (CNC) machines in the U.S., Taiwan and China.
Most recently, Hughes was interim general manager. He joined LDI in 2013 as the director of operations. Mike Fiterman, the LDI chairman and the chief executive officer, said, “Ross is a proven executive in our global manufacturing technology businesses, where he has been a leader in enhancing quality and delivering customer satisfaction.”
In the U.S., CNC precision machine tools for milling and turning are manufactured under the Milltronics brand, with operations in Waconia, MN, where Hughes is based. Additional operations include Milltronics Jinan (China) and Takumi brand CNC machines, manufactured in Taiwan. Manufacturers and toolrooms across the globe use Milltronics and Takumi machines. “Hughes will be responsible for strategic alignment of the brands and their operations,” added Fiterman.
Prior to joining LDI, Hughes was an owner and consultant with BusinessTree LLC and previously held leadership positions for Viking Engineering and Development. He has more than 20 years of leadership, manufacturing and business experience. His passion for manufacturing technology comes from investing years in capital equipment, fabrication, aerospace, medical and defense organizations.
