Graebener-Reika, Inc., (GRI; Reading, PA) a provider of machinery for processing tube, pipe, bar, plate and sheet, has announced the availability of a new 4-column hydroforming press through it’s parent company, Graebener Maschinentechnik GmbH & Co. KG (Netphen, Germany).
This system is ideally suited for high-volume environments, such as the automotive industry, doubling the number of parts produced in a single press stroke while cutting the per stroke cycle time in half. The presses are available in closing forces from 800 tons to 5,000 tons. The press crown and the bed are connected to each other and clamped by means of four tie rods with the crown of the press supported by the side columns. This column design offers the advantage of easy accessibility to the press and die space area from all four sides.
“We are a worldwide leader for hydroforming equipment and process know-how,” said Rich Marando, the president of Graebener Reika. “This is just another clear illustration of our industry-leading expertise. Graebener Maschinentechnik designs and builds some of the world’s highest tonnage hydroform presses, offering an extensive selection of equipment. Its 4-column presses feature standard closing forces from 800 tons to 5,000 tons.
The RoboClamp® pre-tensioned C-frame press can produce long components such as frame side rails or cross members, and comes in four standard closing forces from 3,250 tons to 18,000 tons. The RoboClamp offers easy access from three sides with robotic tool change and loading. Compact frame presses suitable for low pressure hydroforming and smaller components such as plumbing fittings are also available as well as customized solutions for applications up to 18,000 tons.
Graebener machines are recognized as being some of the fastest hydroforming presses on the market, with user-selectable “turbo-boost” for any controlled axis. Additionally, these hydroform presses feature 32 simultaneously controlled axes on its machines, more than any other press builder.
