The new EM Series of vertical machining centers is economically affordable, reliable and is backed by Chevalier's 30 years of top industry R&D.

The new EM Series from Chevalier Machinery, Inc. (Santa Fe Springs, CA) is a high-speed VMC with a cost savings that hammers the competition, delivering more bang for your buck and increasing your production capabilities. The high-speed machine is engineered with efficiency to satisfy the need for large quantity machining with limited floor space. The series comes in three models: EM1620L, EM2033L and the EM2040L.

Here are vital specs about the EM Series:

  • Structure: The major parts of the machine are constructed of high-quality Meehanite cast iron, which offers superior stability. The machine’s base is supported by full-travel, enabling it to be suitable for high-speed machining. All 3-axes are built with high-speed linear ways providing smooth quick movement without delay. The series ranges from 16 in x 20 in to 20 in x 40 in.
  • Capacity: The Series has a table load of up to 1,320 lb with an overall table dimension of up to 47 in x 20 in. The travel on the X-, Y- and Z-axes are up to 40 in x 20.8 in x 20 in.
  • Performance: The series provides fast interpolation, minimizing machining time with high, rapid speed, up to 1,889.7 ipm. The powerful 20 hp spindle motor handles up to 10,000 rpm, combining an attractive finish surface in high-speed with enough torque in lower rpm. Optional 12,000 rpm is available. Another benefit is quick pick-up speed, with high-speed rigid tapping. Tool capacity is 24 ATC arm type, with a random tool change.
  • Control: The series is loaded with features: FANUC 0iMD, color 8.4 in LCD that has a 4-axes, simultaneous contouring, linear-circular-helical interpolation and canned cycles for drilling, tapping and profiling, plus a conversational Manual Guide 0i and much more.

After final assembly, all Chevalier machines are measured and calibrated by state-of-the-art laser calibration and ball-bar test equipment. This ensures precise verification and compensation, resulting in increased accuracy and repeatability. From casting to final assembly, each completed section is thoroughly inspected to give our customers the highest level of quality control.

You work with the best when you own a Chevalier. More than 30 years of the industry’s top R&D has produced a new EM Series that’s the best value in VMC machining. Pricing starts at $48,500 for the EM1620L.
