Methods Machine Tools Expands Operations
Two new managers join an increased sales engineering and support staff.

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. (Sudbury, MA), a leading supplier of innovative precision machine tools, automation and accessories, has recently expanded its Southern California operation, increasing the number of sales/application engineering and service personnel by eight, and offering a full range of machine tool solutions from all partner brands. In addition, Robert Serrano has been added to the leadership team as sales manager, bringing his 25 years of machine tool experience to the region.
“With new personnel, the full complement of our industry leading partner brands, and a dedicated service and support staff, we are poised to meet the demands of our growing Southern California customer base,” said Fernando R. Garcia, the general manager of West Coast operations for Methods Machine Tools.
Their new state-of-the-art Southern California technology center, which was officially opened in June 2014, provides machine tools solutions of all their partner brands, including Fanuc RoboDrill Tapping/Drilling Centers, Fanuc Wire EDM, Nakamura Tome Turning and Multitasking Machining Centers, YASDA High Precision Jig Borers, CNC Machining Centers, Feeler Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, Milling and Boring Mills, and KIWA Horizontal Machining Centers.
The company also announced the appointment of Don E. Miller as the general manager, to head up company operations in Elgin, IL. He has over 25 years of sales and management experience in manufacturing and machine tools. Prior to joining Methods, Miller was the executive vice president of 5ME, LLC, a manufacturing start-up, where he was responsible for all sales and customer service.
Before that he worked at MAG IAS, LLC as the vice president of productivity solutions business unit and the vice president of new machine sales. He also held the position of vice president of sales for Galaxy Associates, Inc. and was responsible for integrating three strategic acquisitions in three years, while growing sales, reducing expenses and increasing earnings. Miller also held positions at Milacron, Inc., from territory manager and regional business manager to business unit manager. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology and a minor in Industrial Distribution.

In recent years the company has been expanding its Illinois Technology Center by adding application engineers and service personnel to meet growing demand. The Elgin facility provides complete turnkey installations and cell automation solutions for Methods full line of machine tools and EDMs.
