Industrial Magnetics, Inc. (Boyne City, MI) has recently announced a 16,000 sq ft addition to their manufacturing center. Founded in 1961, the company manufactures magnetic products for holding, lifting, fixturing, conveying, material handling, and magnetic separation applications.
The addition was necessitated by space constraints in the current facility due to steady business growth, largely attributed to new product development and the growth of key channel partners. The new space will house a variety of work cells designed for efficient changeover to meet the wide array of products the company manufactures. Additionally, it will house a 40 ton capacity crane for large-scale projects and an integrated loading bay.
Construction of the addition is set to begin in June with a completion target date of December 1, 2015. Once completed, the total manufacturing space will encompass 34,000 sq ft.
“We’re very pleased to announce the expansion of our facility”, states IMI president Dennis O’Leary. “We’ve taken great care to design a construction plan that ensures as little work flow interruption as possible. We’re confident that we’ll maintain our current pace of business through the project and be well-positioned for continued growth.”
