The Lincoln Electric Company (Cleveland, OH) has successfully passed a rigorous accreditation process to become an IACET Accredited Provider (AP) of continuing educational programming. The company now will be able to offer accredited continuing education units (CEUs) for educational workshops, seminars and welding school courses held at its global headquarters in Cleveland.

“This recognition is a major milestone in Lincoln Electric’s ongoing development of strong continuing education and training initiatives,” notes Jason Scales, the manager of education services at Lincoln Electric. “We now can offer valuable CEU credits to those who enroll at programs here at our Cleveland headquarters, which takes our training to a new level.”

According to IACET’s mission statement, the organization “leads the way in bringing quality, excellence and integrity to continuing education and training programs around the world.” Its mission is to advance the global workforce by providing the standard framework for quality learning and development through accreditation. The organization’s history includes developing the original CEU and creating and maintaining the ANSI/IACET Standard for Continuing Education and training.

Through its new status as an IACET AP, Scales says Lincoln Electric’s in-house educators are assessing continuing education and training programs for potential CEU opportunities for future participants. The company also is looking at new courses to develop for future opportunities for welding professionals to obtain both CEU and skills growth.

This IACET accreditation is another notable achievement in the company’s growth in the education sector. In addition to its workshops, seminars and welding school courses, and in support of the continued effort to teach future skilled workers the art and craft of welding, Lincoln Electric has created a successful program to bring learning and high quality educational products to welding professionals and welding educators.

These offerings can be accessed through the company’s in-depth, online Education Resource, where visitors can register for seminars and workshops, enroll in the company’s registered Weld School, purchase literature and curriculum and even locate valuable welding safety information, among other features.
