Shelton Machinery Acquires Concept Technical Sales
The two Mazak distributors combine to increase service and support to customers in Kansas and Western Missouri.

A new business agreement between two longtime distributors of Mazak Corporation (Florence, KY) machine tools will bring even higher levels of service and support to their customers in Kansas and Western Missouri. Shelton Machinery, Inc. (Fishers, IN) and Concept Technical Sales, Inc. (Overland Park, KS) will join forces to provide manufacturers in these regions with more than 40 years of combined Mazak experience.
Located near Indianapolis, Shelton Machinery has been serving Mazak customers in Indiana and Kentucky since 1988. In an effort to expand the company’s reach as a total manufacturing solutions provider, owners Nick Shelton and Jeff Tucker purchased Concept Technical Sales, a 25-year Mazak distributor based in Overland Park. As part of a mutually beneficial agreement, Concept Technical Sales will remain at its current location and operate under the name “Concept Machinery, a Shelton Machinery Company.” Paul Domurat, the former president of Concept Technical Sales, will remain a staple at the location, serving as sales manager.
Current Concept Technical Sales customers will have access to the same advanced Mazak equipment and sales contacts, with the bonus of even more service, support and training. Shelton Machinery plans to add new applications engineers and factory certified technicians to the area for improved response times as well as increase the amount of training and learning opportunities available. Furthermore, the acquisition allows the Shelton Machinery team to expand its expertise into new areas such as aerospace parts manufacturing, which has a strong presence in Kansas.
