To strengthen its presence in automotive machining markets, Tongtai Machine & Tool, Ltd. Group (Kaohsiung City, Taiwan) has acquired a 76 percent stake in the holding company of European transfer center machine builder Anger Machining GmbH (Traun, Austria). Tongtai is an OEM partner of Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. (Lorain, OH).
Anger (pronounced ahn-ger) Machining has subsidiaries in Germany, Japan, and Ann Arbor, MI, and custom designs, builds, and programs high-performance transfer centers to meet each customer’s specific partmaking needs. The machines are engineered to provide short cycle times and maximize output in mass production environments. The transfer centers’ design permits multiple tools to work on a part simultaneously.
Available automation technology including gantry loaders, robots, and conveyors is fully integrated through FANUC, Siemens, and HMI CNC systems using Autorace software. The productivity and accuracy of these transfer centers make them preferred over single- or double-spindle CNC machine tools for machining complex workpieces such as prismatic aluminum components and rotationally symmetrical parts in steel and cast iron.
The partnership of Tongtai, Anger, and Absolute Machine Tools will comprehensively serve customer needs for service, parts and application engineering support for the high-end Anger transfer centers.
