In order to more accurately represent its expanding manufacturing capabilities, Miro Tool & Mfg. (Waukesha, WI) has changed its name to Miro Manufacturing Inc. The full-service contract manufacturer specializes in metal stamping, fabrication and machining and maintains a full-service tool room to support its metalworking production.
Jeff and Shelley Brown founded the firm in 1988 as a tool and die shop with four employees. Today, the company has grown to 44 employees. “It was time to change our name to be clear about who we are and what we do, manufacturing,” said company president Jeff Brown. “Production sales now far outweigh tooling sales. We have and plan to continue investing accordingly so we can continue to support customers from design to final assembly, or as we like to say around here, ‘from start to part.’”
This evolution actually began many years ago, with the addition of stamping capabilities in the late 1990s. Since then, fabrication capabilities have expanded with laser and waterjet cutting, as well as welding advancements. In 2015 alone, capital expenditures included a 4.5 kW Mitsubishi laser cutting machine and a 600 ton Brown Boggs stamping press. Plans for 2016 include a facility expansion to accommodate additional machinery, capacity and growing business. “A big difference between us and many other metalworking contract manufacturers is that we have not turned our back on our tool room. We embrace it. Our tool room is here to stay in support of all our production services,” added Brown.
In conjunction with the name change, the company has launched a totally redesigned website, www.MiroMfg.com. Responsive design makes this site user-friendly on all devices, with concise navigation and easy-to-find information. Users can request a quote, contact the company, learn about and apply for jobs, and find company news. The site also features videos and photos that provide further details on manufacturing capabilities.
