Ultra Precise Machining Accuracy

Ideal for tight-tolerance aerospace component applications, the geometric accuracy of the Mitsui Seiki Vertex 75X II is carefully monitored in the tightest temperature-controlled factory environment in the world.

Vertex 75X II vertical machining centers from Mitsui Seiki are constructed with a unique “box-in-box” design and hand-scraped guideway mounting surfaces for superior rigidity, stiffness and agility that is ideal for the high speed machining of tight-tolerance aerospace parts. They offer unparalleled machine geometry, with 0.000040 in positioning accuracy in X, Y, and Z axes; ±6 arc seconds in A-axis; and ±4 arc seconds in C-axis.

Mitsui Seiki USA, Inc. (Franklin Lakes, NJ) introduces their Vertex 75X II line of vertical machining centers with new features, capabilities, options and configurations. This series comprises six distinct models that offer linear axes (X, Y, Z) strokes of 750 mm (29.5 in) x 800 mm (31.4 in) x 700 mm (27.5 in). A new optional ultra-high accuracy and precision package enhances these machines, making them well suited for tight-tolerance aerospace component applications. Shops can gain significant production improvements by eliminating the traditional machine ‘warm up’ time for very demanding precision jobs. Machine geometry is unparalleled and positioning accuracy in the X, Y, and Z axes is 0.001 mm (0.000040 in); A-axis is ±6 arc seconds; and C-axis is ±4 arc seconds.

The Vertex 75X II line offers a new 30,000 rpm spindle in addition to 15,000 rpm, 18,000 rpm and 25,000 rpm choices that take full advantage of the machine’s acceleration and deceleration characteristics and high speed machining functions. An HSK-80 taper spindle connection for more heavy-duty machining is an option to complement the existing HSK-63 and 40-taper tool interfaces. The Vertex 75X II line includes several configurations in the range, based on table sizes and types, from 225 mm (9 in) to 500 mm (19.7 in) diameter. A choice of rotary axis drive systems (high torque geared type or direct drive) allows for the optimum machine configuration to suit customer needs.

Vertex 75X II geometric accuracy is carefully monitored in the tightest temperature-controlled factory environment in the world. The machine features a proprietary cast iron bed that provides an ultra rigid and thermally stable machine structure. A unique “box-in-box” design provides superior rigidity, stiffness and agility that is only available in a machine of this caliber. Guideway mounting surfaces are hand-scraped to achieve very high volumetric accuracies – a process that is far superior to simply machined and/or ground systems. This engineering and construction concept, coupled with a newly designed machine, now provides users with even more competitive advantages over traditional, similar purpose products.
